"Mountains and Sea" , created in 1952 by Helen Frankenthaler ,is a landmark painting in Abstract Expressionism ,known for its innovative soak-stain technique and its influence on subsequent generation of artists especially on our time ,the 21st Century . 

Personal input : " I feel like the soak-stain technique marking  a departure from traditional painting techniques and contributing to the Color Field Movement within Abstract Expressionism emphasises spontaneity and emotional expression -to move to modern times we need to embrace the old with empathy and express everything we feel without any hesitation to be authentic to our work . "
