"Mountains and Sea" , created in 1952 by Helen Frankenthaler ,is a landmark painting in Abstract Expressionism ,known for its innovative soak-stain technique and its influence on subsequent generation of artists especially on our time ,the 21st Century . 

Personal input : " I feel like the soak-stain technique marking  a departure from traditional painting techniques and contributing to the Color Field Movement within Abstract Expressionism emphasises spontaneity and emotional expression to move to modern times we need to embrace the old with empathy and express everything we feel without any hesitation to be authentic to our work . "
